Statisanium

Estebur was once a peaceful land, where every village lived by itself. Year after Year, each village went through the same routine, without knowing the existence of other lands, people and ways of living other than their own. Once in a while, a hunter came back from his duty saying he saw someone he had never seen before, even if every one knew each person living in his village. Some even never came back. They didn't know that there existed other lands and that these lands were constantly fighting each other to expand their territory.
The villages of Estebur were unknown of the other countries who thought these lands were owned by one of their rivals and useless as they had no ressources. Estebur was indeed surrounded by a chain of mountains and no one knew what was hidden inside. Willing to know, some kings sent expeditions to climb the mountains, but none came back. Estebur stayed peacefully for a long time, protected by the holy spirits of the height.
The Esakias village was the closest to the north mountains and the smallest of all.
The village's chief, Orbec, was married to the shaman's daughter, Tamlia, whose lack of power was considered a disgrace for her bloodline.
One day, the Shaman came out of her daughter's tent, carrying a baby, Tamrec, Heir of Orben and future village chief. His birth was joyfully welcomed by the entire village. The cheering crowd suddenly silenced as people heard Tamlia screaming in pain. The shaman gave Tamrec to his father and ran into the tent. The villagers were hopeless, crying and praying the gods to spare them. Tamlia was a real disgrace. Born without power, she gave birth to a boy and a girl.Each time twins lived in the village, a disaster wiped away the village until one of the children were sacrificed to the God of Misfortune.
Tamrec and Lia, progeny of Orben, were born.
